Honey Jalapeño Glazed Salmon

Going along with our “healthy” new year recipes theme, here is a delicious broiled Honey Jalapeño Glazed Salmon recipe that you can make this month. It is simple, can be ready in under 30 minutes and it is very tasty.

Salmon is one of my favorite fish. I’m usually happy with it just seasoned with salt and pepper and served with lemon. But my younger sister made this salmon recipe when she visited me a few years back and I loved it. The glaze gives this salmon a sweet, tangy and slightly spicy taste and the jalapeños also become sweet and tangy. I could eat the jalapeños on their own, they pretty much become candied. As a matter of fact I like to add an extra jalapeño or two to the glaze so I can snack on them and top my salmon with extra 🙂

This recipe is pretty straightforward so I don’t really have any tips for you. My only tip is if you like jalapeños, be like me and use more. I had mine with fried plantains and sautéed green beans but you can use any sides of your liking.

Honey Jalapeño Glazed Salmon

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 large jalapeño, stemmed and sliced
  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Set oven to broil.

Mix honey, lemon juice and jalapeño in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer over very low heat for about 10 minutes.

In the meantime, rinse the salmon and pat dry. Brush lightly with oil and season with salt and pepper on both sides.

Broil salmon for about 5 minutes per side, brushing with half the honey mixture. When salmon is cooked to your liking, remove from the oven and drizzle with remaining glaze and jalapeños. Serve immediately with sides of your choice and enjoy!
